To mail at the lower First-Class postcard price, a card must be rectangular, between 5 and 6 inches long, 3.5 and 4.25 inches tall, and 0.007 to 0.016 inches thick. Anything larger mails at letter rates.
A 6 by 9 inch card is past postcard size, so it mails as a letter, or for saturation mailings as an EDDM piece. Bigger postcards stand out in the mailbox; just budget the higher postage. We’ll help you weigh size against cost.
4 by 6 and 5 by 7 inches are the go-to sizes. A 4 by 6 qualifies for postcard postage, while a 5 by 7 mails as a letter but gives you more room. We print all common sizes on durable cardstock.
